Andersen 8'0" 4 wt. Wet Fly Rod

This a F. E. Thomas 8'0" 4 wt. wet fly taper was acquired  years ago when I was fishing wet flies on the Crowsnest. The rod works well due to it's deep flexing action that doesn't dry the flies between casts. Unlike many rods I build, this one was done in 3 pieces c/w an extra tip.  The rod features blued fittings, dark red wraps c/w black trim, titanium coated snake guides and ceramic stripper.

Sharp's of Aberdeen Greenheart Fly Rod
In the early 1970's a retail fly fishing company in the US imported these rods. I had read about them and decided that I had to try one out. The rod was used little over the next few years and finally found a comfortable space in the rod rack till this week. For those that like to be just a tad different, how about a solid wood rod. Greenheart was the material of choice for many years when building spey rods. Curiously, the material still has it staunch advocates today. The rod casts a 5 weight well to <> 55'. The rod also is equipped with a ferrule plug in keeping with tradition.
